Commemoration Day ceremony in Rumbula

Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia, Riga Jewish Community, Latvian Society of the Jews - Former Prisoners of Ghettos and Concentration Camps, Riga Jewish Religious Community invites on November 27, 2011 at 12:00 to the Commemoration Day ceremony dedicated to 70th anniversary of the massacre in Rumbula forest.
Rumbula is one of the biggest sites of mass killings of Jews in Europe.
On November 30 and December 8 of 1941, the Nazis have killed more than 24,000 Latvian Jews from the Riga Ghetto and approximately 1,000 German Jews transported here by train.
The commemoration ceremony is sponsored by the German Embassy in Latvia.
