The presentation of Martin Grahls book "Christian - Jewish dialogue"
The presentation of Martin Grahls book “Christian – Jewish dialogue” took place in the University’s of Latvia Theology Department on the 20th of February. The Theology Department’s dean of admissions Ralf Kokin, the director of Konrad Adenauer Fund Andreas Klein, the director of the Centre for Judaic Studies of the University of Latvia prof. Ruvin Ferber, the chairman of the Latvian Bible Society Valdis Teraudkalns, the bishop of Latvian Evangelic – Lutheran Church Pavils Bruvers, the culture attaché of the Embassy of Germany in Latvia Gudrun Masloh held their speeches on the presentation.
The uniqueness of the book was emphasized during the speeches: this is the first work on a complicated, but topical theme of interdenominational dialogue. The author of the book has shared with the purposes, which inspired him to write the work, and the specifics and hardships of the dialogue. Martin Grahl had remarked that the goal of a dialogue is not only to understanad the other, but also oneself and his or her traditions.
The book was edited in the publishing house of the Latvian Bible Society in Latvian and Russian languages, with the financial support of Riga Konrad Adenauer Fund, International Council of Chistians and Jews and Evangelical Church in Germany.
