12:00 – Remembrance ceremony at the Rumbula Memorial (471 Maskavas Street).
Organised by the Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia.
The event will be attended by the President of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis, Speaker of the Saeima Inara Murniece, and other public officials, diplomatic officials, non-governmental organisations and the members of the Jewish community.
*The bus is departing from 6 Skolas Street at 10:45.
15:00 – Museum “Jews in Latvia” (6 Skolas Street)
Opening of the new exhibition about the Holocaust.
The author of the exhibition – museum’s founder and curator, former inmate of the Riga Ghetto and concentration camps – Margers Vestermanis.
Wednesday, November 30
14:00 – Museum of the Occupation of Latvia (7 Raina Blvd.) “Endless Echo”
Reading of the excerpts of diaries, written during the Holocaust.
Guided museum tours for groups and individuals (upon request).
18:00 – Lighting of candles at the Freedom Monument in memory of the Jews, killed in Rumbula (public initiative).
19:00 – 20:00 Zanis Lipke Memorial (9 Mazais Balasta Dam)
Performance of the jazz percussionist Arkady Gotesman (Lithuania).
“The True-Life Story About Gotesman – God’s Man”.
20:00 – 20:30 Conversation with the artist about the Gotesman family during the Holocaust.
