Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia on July 4 at 12:00 invites to participate in the central event of the Day of Commemoration of victims of genocide against the Jews in Latvia – the mourning meeting at the site of the burnt Great synagogue in Riga, Gogola street 25.

The event is attended by the Latvian officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

At 13:00 the Association of German cities “Riga Committee” invites to take part in flower-laying ceremony at the memorial in Bikernieki to commemorate more than 20 000 German Jews, who were deported to Riga in the years 1941/42 and murdered in the woods of Bikernieki.

Day of Commemoration of victims of genocide against the Jews is celebrated in memory of more than 70 000 Latvian Jews who were killed in 1941-1945 in Nazi-occupied Latvia.
