The Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia wishes to express its gratitude to the company Kärcher for setting in order the monument to Jewish rescuers in Riga, Gogola street 25. The work was carried out using innovative cleaning technology as part of the Kärcher cultural sponsorship programme.
We also express our gratitude to the Austrumu Executive Board of Riga and personally to the executive director Dmitry Pavlov for their support.
Memorial to the victims of the Holocaust on the Gogola street represents the ruins of the Great Choral Synagogue burned down on July 4, 1941 by local Nazi collaborators, and a monument to Žanis Lipke and all Latvian rescuers of Jews.
