On January 27, at the Bikernieki memorial in Riga, a commemorative event dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day was held. The ceremony, organized by the Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia, was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ecclesiastics of the major religious denominations in Latvia, students and members of the Jewish community.
